Information – Lord Indra, accompanied by Surabhi, came to worship Lord Caitanya and humbly sought forgiveness for his offense, which had taken place in the Dvapara Yuga.
While circumambulating the temple, you will see dioramas of Rupa Goswami, Jiva Goswami, Raghunath Das Goswami, Srinivas Acharya, Narottam Das Thakur, Bhatta Raghunath, Gopal Bhatta Goswami, and Sanatana Goswami displayed on the temple walls.
Information – In 1988, Srila Tridandi Swami Bhakti Malay Giri Maharaja purchased this plot of land at Surabhi-kunja from the wife of Srila Bhaktivinoda Thakura’s grandson, Indira Prasada Datta. She remarked, “You look like my grandfather, Srila Bhaktivinoda Thakura, because your belly is big like his, so you can make a temple here.” At that time, the land at Surabhi-kunja was an uncultivated jungle with only one dilapidated house.
In 2015, the temple building was completed by Sripada Bhaktivedanta Avadhut Maharaja, and the deities of Sri Sri Radha Madan Mohan, Sri Gaurasundara, Sri Nityananda Raya, and Srila Bhaktivinoda Thakura were installed.
