Mangala-Arati

Our morning begins with Mangala Arati, starting promptly at 4:30. It is considered the most auspicious and blissful ceremony for all participants. The Pujari blows the conch, and the Deity's curtains are opened. Before opening the curtains, the Pujari awakens the Deities, offering them Balya-bhoga of morning paraphernalia, water, and milk sweets or other preparations suitable for early morning. The transcendental sound of the conch (shankh) is blown to signal the awakening of the Deities, who appear still dressed in their night attire, without garlands or jewelry. While the Pujari performs Mangala-arati, the devotees offer their obeisances and engage in kirtana, which involves a set program of songs. Sri Sri Gurvashtakam is sung during the Mangala-arati ceremony, glorifying the guru and his engagement of disciples in the process of Bhakti-yoga. Then, Nrsimhadeva arati is sung. This arati signifies the devotee's surrender unto Lord Nrsimhadeva and even glorifies Lord Nrsimhadeva for His pastime of killing the demon Hiranyakashipu. Lord Nrsimhadeva removes all obstacles from the path of Bhakti.

Tulasi Arati
Right after the Mangal Arati, the prayer to Tulasi Maharani takes place. Tulasi is the most sacred plant and is known as the favorite of Lord Krishna. Worship of Tulasi Maharani is beneficial as she grants Bhakti to the devotees. One devotee offers Aarti with incense, a lamp, and flowers on behalf of all the devotees, and then everyone waters the roots of Tulsi Maharani to seek her blessings.

Darsana-Arati
Once the Deities are ornamented, dressed, and worshiped privately, they give Darshan to all the devotees so that people can offer prayers and worship. The chief priest offers Arati with a lamp, incense, chamara, and peacock fan. It's a blissful sight, full of devotion.

Srila Prabhupada Guru-Puja
In this session, ISKCON members offer greetings to Srila Prabhupada. They express gratitude to him and seek his mercy, understanding that without the guru, one cannot reach the Supreme. He is the bestower of knowledge in the hearts of sincere devotees. During the Guru Puja, devotees sing and offer flower petals at the lotus feet of the great Srila Prabhupada.

Srimad-Bhagavatam
After Guru Puja, all the devotees sit down together and listen to the auspicious Srimad Bhagavatam. In keeping with the ancient tradition of passing down spiritual knowledge, our well-versed speakers teach the essence of this timeless scripture, providing everyone with the opportunity to grow in their spiritual lives. The spokesperson reads the stanza and explanations by Srila Prabhupada. Following that, they engage in a discussion on the topic. Finally, the speaker answers all the queries.

Bhoga-Arati
This particular Arati lasts up to 20 minutes. During the Arati, food is offered to all the Deities. The chief priest also offers aromatic incense, fresh flowers, a chamara, and a peacock fan to the Deities..

Dhupa-Arati
This Arati lasts for 10 minutes. The chief priest offers Aarti with aromatic incense, fresh flowers, a chamara, and a peacock fan as well. Following that, fruits are offered to the Deities as bhog.

Sandhya-Arati
Sandhya Arati is better known as Gaura Arati. All the devotees sing Gaura Aarti and offer worship to Lord Chaitanya. This is one of the most magnificent and wonderful Aratis, attracting people from all over to praise the Lord. Devotees sing loudly and dance, creating a blissful sight that is not to be missed.

Class on Bhagavad-Gita
Similar to the morning, the evening session is conducted with equal devotion and reverence. It is organized for both worshippers and residents alike.

Shayan-Arati
It is the final Arati of the day, offering devotees their last chance to see and worship the Deities.

Mangala-Arati

Visvanatha Cakravarti Thakura has written this song “samsara-davanala-lidha-loka”. The official name of this song is Sri Sri Gurv-ashtaka (Eight Prayers to the Guru). In this song, Visvanatha Cakravarti Thakura describes the glories of the Spiritual Master. Srila Visvanatha Cakravarti Thakura, who appeared in the middle of the seventeenth century, is a great spiritual master in the Krishna conscious chain of gurus and disciples. He says, “One who, with great care and attention, loudly recites this beautiful prayer to the spiritual master during the brahma-muhurta obtains direct service to Krishna, the Lord of Vrindavana, at the time of his death.”

TRANSLATION

(1) The spiritual master is receiving benediction from the ocean of mercy. Just as a cloud pours water on a forest fire to extinguish it, so the spiritual master delivers the materially afflicted world by extinguishing the blazing fire of material existence. I offer my respectful obeisances unto the lotus feet of such a spiritual master, who is an ocean of auspicious qualities.

(2) Chanting the holy name, dancing in ecstasy, singing, and playing musical instruments, the spiritual master is always gladdened by the sankirtana movement of Lord Caitanya Mahaprabhu. Because he is relishing the mellows of pure devotion within his mind, sometimes his hair stands on end, he feels quivering in his body, and tears flow from his eyes like waves. I offer my respectful obeisances unto the lotus feet of such a spiritual master.

(3) The spiritual master is always engaged in the temple worship of Sri Sri Radha and Krishna. He also engages his disciples in such worship. They dress the Deities in beautiful clothes and ornaments, clean Their temple, and perform other similar worship of the Lord. I offer my respectful obeisances unto the lotus feet of such a spiritual master.

(4) The spiritual master is always offering Krishna four kinds of delicious food [analyzed as that which is licked, chewed, drunk, and sucked]. When the spiritual master sees that the devotees are satisfied by eating bhagavat-prasada, he is satisfied. I offer my respectful obeisances unto the lotus feet of such a spiritual master.

(5) The spiritual master is always eager to hear and chant about the unlimited conjugal pastimes of Radhika and Madhava, and Their qualities, names, and forms. The spiritual master aspires to relish these at every moment. I offer my respectful obeisances unto the lotus feet of such a spiritual master.

(6) The spiritual master is very dear, because he is expert in assisting the gopis, who at different times make different tasteful arrangements for the perfection of Radha and Krishna’s conjugal loving affairs within the groves of Vrindavana. I offer my most humble obeisances unto the lotus feet of such a spiritual master.

(7) The spiritual master is to be honored as much as the Supreme Lord, because he is the most confidential servitor of the Lord. This is acknowledged in all revealed scriptures and followed by all authorities. Therefore I offer my respectful obeisances unto the lotus feet of such a spiritual master, who is a bona fide representative of Sri Hari [Krishna].

(8) By the mercy of the spiritual master one receives the benediction of Krishna. Without the grace of the spiritual master, one cannot make any advancement. Therefore, I should always remember and praise the spiritual master. At least three times a day I should offer my respectful obeisances unto the lotus feet of my spiritual master.

Nrsimhadeva-Arati

Krsna Dvaipayana Vyasa has written this song “namas te narasimhaya”. The official name of this song is Sri Nrisimha Pranama. This song is taken from the book Nrsimha Purana.

(2) Lord Nrisimha is here and also there. Wherever I go Lord Nrisimha is there. He is in the heart and is outside as well. I surrender to Lord Nrisimha, the origin of all things and the supreme refuge.
(3) O Kesava! O Lord of the universe! O Lord Hari, who have assumed the form of half-man, half-lion! All glories to You! Just as one can easily crush a wasp between one’s fingernails, so in the same way the body of the wasplike demon Hiranyakasipu has been ripped apart by the wonderful pointed nails on Your beautiful lotus hands.

TRANSLATION:

(1) O Tulasi, beloved of Krishna, I bow before you again and again. My desire is to obtain the service of Sri Sri Radha and Krishna.
(2) Whoever takes shelter of you has his wishes fulfilled. Bestowing your mercy on him, you make him a resident of Vrindavana.
(3) My desire is that you will also give me a residence in the pleasure groves of Sri Vrindavana-dhama. Thus within my vision I will always behold the beautiful pastimes of Radha and Krishna.
(4) I beg you to make me a follower of the cowherd damsels of Vraja. Please give me the privilege of devotional service and make me your own maidservant.
(5) This very fallen and lowly servant of Krsna prays, "May I always swim in the love of Sri Radha and Govinda.

Sri Tulasi Pranama

vṛndāyai tulasī-devyai
priyāyai keśavasya ca
viṣṇu-bhakti-prade devī
satya vatyai namo namaḥ

I offer my repeated obeisances unto Vrinda, Srimati Tulasi Devi, who is very dear to Lord Kesava. O goddess, you bestow devotional service to Krishna and you possess the highest truth.

Sri Tulasi Pradakshina Mantra

yāni kāni ca pāpāni
brahma-hatyādikāni ca
tāni tāni praṇaśyanti
pradakṣiṇaḥ pade pade

By the circumambulation of Srimati Tulasi Devi all the sins that one may have committed are destroyed at every step, even the sin of killing a brahmana.

And when COLLECTING LEAVES from the plant, the following mantra should be chanted:

Sri Krishna Caitanya Doya Koro More

Narottam Das Thakur has written this song “Sri Krsna Caitanya Prabhu Doya Koro More”. The official name of this song is Savarana Sri Gaura Pada Padme Prarthana. This song is taken from the book Punah Prarthana (Section: Lalasa Song 1). In this song, Narottam Das Thakur prays to Lord Chaitanya and his associated to shower their mercy upon him.

(3) My dear Lord Nityananda, You are always joyful in spiritual bliss. Since You always appear very happy, I have come to You because I am most unhappy. If You kindly put Your glance over me, then I may also become happy.
(4) My dear Advaita Prabhu, husband of Sita, You are so kind. Please be merciful to me. If You are kind to me, naturally Lord Caitanya and Nityananda will also be kind to me.
(5) O Svarupa Damodara, personal secretary of Lord Caitanya, O six Gosvamis ó Sri Rupa Gosvami, Sri Sanatana Gosvami, Sri Raghunatha Bhatta Gosvami, Sri Gopala Bhatta Gosvami, Sri Jiva Gosvami, and Sri Raghunatha dasa Gosvami! Govindam Prayer

Govindam adi-purusam tam aham bhajami
Venum kvanantam aravinda-dalayataksam
Barhavatamsam asitambuda-sundarangam
Kandarpa-koti-kamaniya-visesa-sobham

I worship Govinda, the primeval Lord, who is adept in playing on His flute, with blooming eyes like lotus petals, His head decked with peacock feathers, the figure of beauty tinged with the hue of blue clouds, His unique loveliness charming millions of cupids.

Angani yasya sakalendriya-vrtti-manti
Pasyanti panti kalyanti ciram jaganti
Ananda-cinmaya-sad-ujjvala-vigrahasya

I worship Govinda, the primeval Lord, whose transcendental form is full of bliss, truth, substantiality and is thus full of the most dazzling splendor. Each of the limbs of that transcendental figure possesses in Himself, the full-fledged functions of all the organs, and eternally sees, maintains and manifests the infinite universes, both spiritual and mundane.

1) The lotus feet of our spiritual master are the only way by which we can attain pure devotional service. I bow to his lotus feet with great awe and reverence. By his grace one can cross the ocean of material suffering and obtain the mercy of Krishna.
2) My only wish is to have my consciousness purified by the words emanating from his lotus mouth. Attachment to his lotus feet is the perfection that fulfills all desires.
3) He opens my darkened eyes and fills my heart with transcendental knowledge. He is my Lord birth after birth. From him ecstatic prema emanates; by him ignorance is destroyed. The Vedic scriptures sing of his character.
4) Our spiritual master is the ocean of mercy, the friend of the poor, and the lord and master of the devotees. O master! Be merciful unto me. Give me the shade of your lotus feet. Your fame is spread all over the three worlds.

Bhoga-Arati

Bhaktivinod Thakur has written a song Bhoga Arati and the Official Name for this song is Bhoga Arati (at Ṭhākura Bhaktivinoda’s home at Surabhi-kuñja in Godruṁa-dvīpa). This song is taken from the book Gitavali (Section: Arati Kirtan Song 4). Bhaktivinoda Thakura talks about the different delicacies prepared by Sri Radhey. There are various delicacies both sweet and sour prepared for Sri Krishna , Balaram and His sakha’s. The remnants of the food is thoroughly enjoyed by Shree Radhe and her sakhis. Eating those remnants their heart is filled with bliss and satisfaction.

TRANSLATION
(1) Just worship Sri Gaurahari, who is always affectionate toward His devotees. He is the same Supreme Godhead, Krishna, who sported in the cowherd pastures of Vraja and stole the hearts of Nanda and Yasoda.
(2) Mother Yasoda calls to Krishna, “My dear Damodara, it is very late. Please come right now, sit down in the dining hall, and take Your lunch.”
(3) On the direction of Nanda Maharaja, Krishna, the holder of Govardhana Hill, sits down, and then all the cowherd boys, along with Krishna’s elder brother, Sri Baladeva, sit down in rows to take their lunch.
(4) They are then served a feast of sukta and various kinds of green leafy vegetables, then nice fried things, and a salad made of the green leaves of the jute plant. They are also served pumpkin, baskets of fruit, small square cakes made of lentils and cooked-down milk, then thick yogurt, squash cooked in milk, and vegetable preparations made from the flower of the banana tree.
(5) Then they receive fried squares of mung dahl patties, and urad dahl patties, capatis, and rice with ghee. Next, sweets made with milk, sugar, and sesamum; rice flour cakes; thick cooked-down milk; cakes floating in milk; and sweet rice.
(6) There is also sweet rice that tastes just like nectar due to its being mixed with camphor. There are bananas, and cheese which is nectarean and delicious. They are also served twelve kinds of sour preparations made with tamarinds, limes, lemons, oranges, and pomegranates.
(7) There are puris made with white flour and sugar; puris filled with cream; laddus; and dahl patties boiled in sugared rice. Krishna eagerly eats all of the food.
(8) In great ecstasy and joy Krishna eats the rice, curried vegetables, sweets, and pastries cooked by Srimati Radharani.
(9) Krishna’s funny brahmana friend Madhumangala, who is very fond of laddus, gets them by hook or by crook. Eating the laddus, he shouts, “Haribol! Haribol!” and makes a funny sound by slapping his sides under his armpits with his hands.
(10) Beholding Radharani and Her gopi friends out of the corners of His eyes, Krishna eats at the house of mother Yasoda with great satisfaction.
(11) After lunch, Krishna drinks rose-scented water. Then all of the boys, standing in lines, wash their mouths.
(12) After all the cowherd boys wash their hands and mouths, in great bliss they take rest with Lord Balarama.
(13) The two cowherd boys Jambula and Rasala then bring Krishna pan made with betel nuts, fancy spices, and catechu. After eating that pan, Sri Krishnacandra then happily goes to sleep.
(14) While Krishna happily takes His rest on an excellent bedstead, His servant Visalaksha cools Him with a fan of peacock feathers.
(15) At mother Yasoda’s request the gopi Dhanishtha brings remnants of food left on Krishna’s plate to Srimati Radharani, who eats them with great delight.
(16) Lalita-devi and the other gopis then receive the remnants, and within their hearts they sing the glories of Radharani and Krishna with great joy.
(17) Thakura Bhaktivinoda, whose one and only joy is the pastimes of Lord Hari, sings this Bhoga-arati song.

Sandhya-Arati

Bhaktivinod Thakur has written this song “Jaya Jaya Goracander Arotik”. The official Name for this song is Sri Gaura Ārati. This song is taken from the book Gitavali (Section: Arati Kirtana Song 2). Bhaktivinoda Thakura speaks about the essence of Gaura Arati which is attracting everyone. Sri Caitanya is accompanied by Nitya nanda and other associates. Sri Krishna Caitanya is seated in a opulent throne and Lord Brahma along with other demigods are performing the Gaura Aarti. All the great Vaishnava and demigods are serving Maha prabhu with great ecstasy.

(2) On Lord Caitanya’s right side is Lord Nityananda, and on His left is Sri Gadadhara. Nearby stands Sri Advaita, and Srivasa Thakura is holding an umbrella over Lord Caitanya’s head.
(3) Lord Caitanya has sat down on a jeweled throne, and the demigods, headed by Lord Brahma, perform the arati ceremony.
(4) Narahari Sarakara and other associates of Lord Caitanya fan Him with camaras, and devotees headed by Sanjaya Pandita, Mukunda Datta, and Vasu Ghosha sing sweet kirtana.
(5) Conchshells, bells, and karatalas resound, and the mridangas play very sweetly. This kirtana music is supremely sweet and relishable to hear.
(6) The brilliance of Lord Caitanya’s face conquers millions upon millions of moons, and the garland of forest flowers around His neck shines.
(7) Lord Siva, Sukadeva Gosvami, and Narada Muni are all there, and their voices are choked with the ecstasy of transcendental love. Thus Thakura Bhaktivinoda envisions the glory of Lord Sri Caitanya.
