Garden Lizard
In the Bhāgavata it is stated that a householder, before taking his lunch, he should invite on the street, “Sir, if anyone is still hungry, please come at my place. There is still food. You can take it.” And he should see that in the household even the lizard, he is not hungry; even there is a snake, he is not hungry. This is Vedic principle, God consciousness, that “Somehow or other, one animal has become lizard. Maybe he is hungry. So at my house he is. Why he should remain hungry? Give him some food.” Nobody likes snake, but in the śāstra it is said, “Even there is a snake, you should see that he is not hungry, he is given some food.”
