What is the Panihati Festival?

The Panihati Chida-Dahi Festival commemorates a beautiful, heart-touching pastime of Srila Raghunatha Dasa Goswami and Nityananda Prabhu. Held on the banks of the Ganges in Panihati, this festival celebrates the offering of chida-dahi (flattened rice and yogurt preparations) to devotees, symbolizing humility, service, and Vaishnava hospitality.
It is a time of great joy, devotional unity, kirtan, drama, and prasadam—recreating the same transcendental mood in the holy land of Sri Mayapur Dham. Through this, we remember the deep mercy of the Lord’s associates and their loving service.
